Science Has No Labels: Research for Inclusive Technologies
As part of the Science Has No Labels campaign, POLITEHNICA Bucharest researchers Alin Moldoveanu, Anca Morar and Maria-Anca Băluțoiu are contributing to the development of emerging technologies designed to remove barriers for people with disabilities.
Through projects such as Sound of Vision, the research team develops innovative systems that help visually impaired people perceive and navigate their surroundings through real-time auditory and haptic feedback. Their work also includes virtual-reality-based rehabilitation technologies designed to support recovery for patients with neuromotor impairments.
This research highlights how science and technology can contribute to a more inclusive society, demonstrating the importance of diversity and inclusion in research and innovation.
The initiative is part of the EELISA Science Has No Labels campaign, which promotes equality, diversity and inclusion in science and higher education.
