POLITEHNICA Bucharest Participates in FOREN 2026

Between 14 and 17 June 2026, representatives of POLITEHNICA Bucharest contributed to discussions and knowledge exchange at FOREN 2026 – the WEC Central & Eastern Europe Energy Forum, one of the leading regional events dedicated to the future of the energy sector.

POLITEHNICA Bucharest was represented in several programme sessions by academic experts serving as moderators and speakers:

  • Professor Horia Necula, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Strategic Partnerships, moderated the session “Adapting Human Resources to the Requirements of the Energy Industry in the Digital Era”, focusing on the competencies and skills required in an increasingly digitalised energy sector.
  • Associate Professor Alexandra Cernian, AI expert, addressed the impact of artificial intelligence, automation and digital transformation on the labour market.
  • Professor Radu Porumb, Director of the Doctoral School of Energy Engineering, and Professor Ion Tristiu, Head of Department at the Faculty of Energy Engineering, moderated the session “Development of the Electricity and Gas Network Grid in the Energy Transition”, addressing the challenges and opportunities associated with the modernisation of energy infrastructure.

The participation of POLITEHNICA Bucharest at FOREN 2026 highlights the university’s active engagement with key issues at the intersection of energy, technology, research and higher education. Through the expertise of its academic community, POLITEHNICA Bucharest continues to contribute to international dialogue on the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of the energy sector.
