POLITEHNICA Bucharest, Kazatomprom and Nuclearelectrica Sign Trilateral Cooperation Agreement

On 23 June 2026, in Brussels, POLITEHNICA Bucharest, Kazatomprom and Nuclearelectrica signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening international cooperation in the civil nuclear energy sector.

Professor Ioan Sacală, President of the PRECIS Research Institute, represented POLITEHNICA Bucharest at the signing ceremony.

The trilateral agreement establishes a framework for cooperation in several strategic areas, including:

• development of competency-based training programmes and curricula;
• organisation of workshops, seminars and certification programmes;
• exchange of experts, knowledge and best practices;
• capacity-building initiatives for future nuclear energy professionals;
• development of joint research and innovation projects;
• support for workforce development across the nuclear energy value chain.

The partnership represents an important step towards strengthening collaboration between academia, industry and the nuclear energy sector, while supporting the development of highly skilled professionals and advancing research and innovation.

Through this agreement, POLITEHNICA Bucharest reaffirms its commitment to excellence in education and research and to expanding international partnerships in strategic fields, contributing to the development of a sustainable and highly skilled nuclear energy sector.
