POLITEHNICA Bucharest Co-Organises Fusion Energy Platform with Japanese and Romanian Partners

POLITEHNICA Bucharest co-organised the Fusion Energy Platform, an event initiated by the Embassy of Japan in Romania, in partnership with Extreme Light Infrastructure – Nuclear Physics (ELI-NP), with the support of the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Romania-Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the JETRO Bucharest Office.

The event brought together representatives of academia, research institutions and industry from Romania and Japan, providing a platform for business matching, knowledge exchange and the development of new cooperation opportunities in the field of fusion energy.

The programme featured presentations by representatives of ELI-NP, invited experts from Osaka University and Kindai University in Japan, as well as Aperture Optical Sciences. Discussions also addressed opportunities for business involvement in fusion energy and the potential for closer cooperation between the research and private sectors.

Networking sessions provided an opportunity for universities, companies and research institutions from Romania and Japan to explore common interests and potential partnerships.

The discussions highlighted the significant potential of international cooperation in nuclear fusion and the essential role of partnerships between universities, research institutions and the private sector in accelerating innovation, supporting the energy transition and advancing related strategic fields.

Through its involvement in the Fusion Energy Platform, POLITEHNICA Bucharest reaffirms its commitment to supporting research excellence, innovation and international cooperation in strategic areas shaping the future.
