POLI InternationalFEST 2026 Strengthens Academic Cooperation between Romania and Tunisia

The 2026 edition of POLI InternationalFEST marked an important milestone in strengthening academic cooperation between Romania and Tunisia, going beyond its role as a celebration of culture and diversity.

With the support and initiative of the Embassy of Romania in Tunisia, the Embassy of the Republic of Tunisia in Romania, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Tunisia and Romanian authorities, the event culminated on 14 May 2026 with the signing of 42 new university cooperation agreements.

POLITEHNICA Bucharest signed 12 of these agreements, establishing and strengthening direct partnerships with 12 Tunisian universities.

The initiative also brought together six other major Romanian universities, which signed the remaining 30 cooperation agreements, further strengthening the academic connections between the two countries.

The new partnerships create opportunities for joint research projects, expanded student and staff mobility through programmes such as Erasmus+, and the exchange of academic expertise and best practices.

The agreements represent an important step towards developing long-term cooperation between Romanian and Tunisian universities and creating new opportunities for students, researchers and academic staff in both countries.

Through initiatives such as POLI InternationalFEST, POLITEHNICA Bucharest continues to support international academic cooperation and the development of strong partnerships that connect universities, people and ideas across borders.
