EELISA’s 5th Joint Call: €140,000 in Funding for Interdisciplinary Projects

The EELISA European University Alliance has officially launched its 5th Joint Call, offering €140,000 in funding to support interdisciplinary, challenge-based projects across its partner universities. This initiative continues EELISA’s commitment to fostering innovation, collaboration, and societal impact, providing up to €15,000 per activity to help academic communities address real-world challenges.

A Strong Focus on Challenge-Based Learning (CBL)

This edition of the EELISA Joint Call places a strong emphasis on Challenge-Based Learning (CBL)—a pedagogical approach that encourages students, researchers, and educators to engage in hands-on projects aimed at solving pressing global issues. These challenges are closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ensuring that funded initiatives contribute to a more sustainable, inclusive, and technologically advanced future.

Key Details and Eligibility

To ensure broad participation and minimal ecological impact, all proposed activities must adhere to the following guidelines:

✅ Hybrid or Online Format – Activities must be designed for online or hybrid execution, enabling cross-border collaboration while reducing the ecological footprint.

✅ Implementation Timeline – Projects must take place after June 1, 2025.

✅ Encouraged Partnerships – The inclusion of Kyiv National University (KNU) as a co-organizer is encouraged, promoting stronger academic ties and international cooperation.

Who Can Apply?

The 5th EELISA Joint Call is open to:

- Faculty members, researchers, and staff from EELISA partner universities

- Students and student organizations with interdisciplinary project proposals

-External stakeholders collaborating with EELISA institutions on impactful initiatives

Funding and Application Process

Each selected project can receive up to €15,000 in funding, supporting innovative educational activities, research collaborations, and technology-driven solutions. Interested applicants should submit their proposals by the deadline: March 15, 2025
