Seminar on Optimization, Inverse Problems, and Control in Electromagnetic Field Modeling

POLITEHNICA Bucharest is pleased to invite the academic community to a seminar delivered by Professor Daniel Onofrei from the University of Houston, USA, entitled “Optimization, Inverse Problems, and Control in Electromagnetic Field Modeling: A Confluence of Ideas.”

The seminar will explore mathematical and computational approaches to electromagnetic field modeling across near-field, intermediate-field and far-field regimes, with applications in advanced communications, radiation-pattern control, radar-signature reduction and electromagnetic false-target generation.

Professor Daniel Onofrei's research lies at the intersection of mathematics, electromagnetics and acoustics, with contributions to antenna design, wave propagation control, radar and sonar technologies, and communication systems. His research has been supported by major U.S. institutions, including the Army Research Office, the Office of Naval Research and the Air Force Office of Scientific Research.
