EELISA Grand Meeting Week 2026 in Madrid

From 18 to 22 May 2026, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) will host a major week of EELISA activities, bringing together students, academics, university staff and representatives of the alliance from across Europe.

The programme will feature several key EELISA events:

1st EELISA Communities Forum – 18–19 May
Community leaders, academics, staff and students will come together to exchange experiences, share good practices and discuss the future development of the EELISA Communities ecosystem. The opening session will also be accessible to the public online.

EELISA Governing Board & Grand Meetings – 19–21 May
EELISA governance bodies and working groups will meet to discuss strategic priorities and the future of the alliance, including the development of EELISA 3.0. The meetings will also mark the handover of the Governing Board Chairship from Istanbul Technical University to Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

4th EELISA Scientific Student Competition – 21–22 May
The competition will bring together 170 students from across Europe to present their research projects in Madrid. The programme will include research pitches, an international jury and an award ceremony.

The week will also include meetings of several EELISA governance and working groups, covering areas such as student engagement, innovation and entrepreneurship, gender and diversity, and the European Campus.

The EELISA Grand Meeting Week provides an opportunity for members of the alliance to connect, exchange knowledge and contribute to the development of a stronger European university community.
