* Environmental Management and Sustainable Development (Bilingual EN-RO)
Description
The Master's program in Environmental Management and Sustainable Development is a bilingual program, in which there are some disciplines taught in English and other in Romanian.
It is an interdisciplinary program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to address global environmental challenges. It integrates scientific and technical perspectives to foster sustainable development and environmental stewardship. The program prepares graduates to lead sustainability initiatives in various sectors, including government, corporate sustainability, NGOs, and international organizations.
Learning outcomes / Skills:
· Identify, analyze and solve complex problems in order to minimize environmental hazards and the effects of climate change, including through the use of methods and techniques specific to applied and industrial research, so as to achieve the objectives of sustainable development
· Establish the basic elements that will allow the implementation of pollutant measurement and analysis systems and to use modern information technologies for monitoring and data acquisition of environmental quality parameters
· Carry out health risk and environmental risk assessments and analyze the environmental impact of new solutions, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, including by applying concepts and theories on impact analysis models, the Life Cycle Analysis methodology, and multicriteria methods for selecting the optimal scenario
· Analyze and implement solutions for advanced technologies for wastewater, air, soil and solid waste treatment, as well as for the ecological rehabilitation of aquatic ecosystems in the context of sustainable development, including through the use of modeling and simulation software packages
· Analyze and implement solutions for renewable energy sources, distributed electricity generation systems, thermo-chemical processes used for the direct or indirect conversion of renewable fuels into energy, considering the impact on the environment and sustainable development
· Perform technical and economic calculations for environmental impact assessment, to carry out the environmental management plan and the environmental manual, as well as to implement the environmental management system
· Develop simple and complex projects in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development, including the identification of solutions for their financing
· Develop managerial actions that favor the institutional implementation of environmental management and sustainable development;
