FutureShapers Camp 2026 – International Hackathon Experience
FutureShapers Camp returns in 2026 as an international one-week Hackathon and innovation camp focused on collaboration and real-world learning. Organized by POLITEHNICA Bucharest and Groupe INSA, with the support of Honeywell, the program brings students together to tackle real engineering challenges in an intensive, team-based environment.
Bachelor's and Master's students from POLITEHNICA Bucharest, Groupe INSA institutions, and partner universities within the EELISA network are invited to participate in an intensive one-week experience focused on innovation, applied learning, and collaboration.
Participants will engage in hands-on projects, interactive sessions, and mentoring activities guided by academic staff and Honeywell specialists. A central element of the program is the team-based challenge and Hackathon, designed to strengthen technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork in a real-world context.
Beyond the academic component, the summer school offers opportunities for networking, cultural exchange, and building lasting international connections.
PROGRAM FEE
Participation in the program is free of charge.ECTS CREDITS
Participants who successfully complete the program will be awarded ECTS credits (according to the academic regulations of the host institution).What makes FutureShapers Camp a Hackathon?
Participants will:
- Form international teams;
- Work intensively on a real-world challenge throughout the week;
- Develop a functional concept, prototype, or technical solution;
- Receive continuous mentoring from academics and industry experts;
- Present their solution at the final Hackathon competition, evaluated by a jury of academic and industry representatives.
Program Highlights
The activities will take place during one week (24-28 August, 2026) and will include:
- Intensive team-based Hackathon focused on real-world engineering challenges;
- Hands-on project development with mentoring support;
- Technical workshops and industry sessions delivered by Honeywell experts;
- Access to laboratories and research facilities at POLITEHNICA Bucharest;
- Exposure to cutting-edge technologies and current industry trends;
- Cultural and social activities for international networking;
- One-day cultural trip to explore Romania.
All participants who successfully complete the program will receive a Certificate of Participation.
The teams with the best performance in the final project or Hackathon will be recognized with special awards offered by the organizers and partners.

- An academic average of at least 8.00 constitutes an advantage.
* The program covers accommodation and meals only. Transportation costs (international or domestic travel) are the responsibility of the participants.
* Due to capacity limitations, selection criteria will focus on the motivation and the background of the students.

Le FutureShapers Camp revient en 2026 sous la forme d'un Hackathon international d'une semaine et d'un camp d'innovation axé sur la collaboration et l'apprentissage concret. Organisé par POLITEHNICA Bucarest et le Groupe INSA, avec le soutien de Honeywell, le programme réunit des étudiants pour relever de véritables défis d'ingénierie dans un environnement intensif et collaboratif.
Les étudiants en licence et en master de POLITEHNICA Bucarest, des institutions du Groupe INSA et des universités partenaires du réseau EELISA sont invités à participer à une expérience intensive d'une semaine centrée sur l'innovation, l'apprentissage appliqué et la collaboration.
Les participants s'engageront dans des projets pratiques, des sessions interactives et des activités de mentorat encadrées par des enseignants-chercheurs et des spécialistes de Honeywell. Un élément central du programme est le défi en équipe et le Hackathon, conçus pour renforcer les compétences techniques, les capacités de résolution de problèmes et le travail d'équipe dans un contexte réel.
Au-delà du volet académique, l'école d'été offre des opportunités de réseautage, d'échanges culturels et de création de liens internationaux durables.

Les participants qui terminent le programme avec succès recevront des crédits ECTS (conformément aux règlements académiques de l'établissement d'accueil).Qu'est-ce qui fait du FutureShapers Camp un Hackathon ?
Les participants vont :
- Former des équipes internationales ;
- Travailler intensivement sur un défi réel tout au long de la semaine ;
- Développer un concept fonctionnel, un prototype ou une solution technique ;
- Bénéficier d'un mentorat continu de la part d'universitaires et d'experts de l'industrie ;
- Présenter leur solution lors de la compétition finale du Hackathon, évaluée par un jury de représentants académiques et industriels.
