Korean Language Course
About the course
The course is offered through the Faculty of Engineering in Foreign Languages and is delivered by an experienced Korean native teacher, a professional Korean language instructor certified with a Level 1 Korean Language Teacher Certificate with extensive teaching experience in academic environment, for over 15 years.
The course is open to all POLITEHNICA Bucharest students interested in learning the Korean language and exploring Korean culture.
POLITEHNICA Bucharest will host one course for beginners (students with no prior knowledge of Korean).
At the end of the course, participants will receive a graduation diploma, allowing them to prepare for internationally recognized certifications in Korean, such as the SKA (Sejong Korean Assessment) or TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean).

In this course you will:
- Acquire basic conversational skills in Korean;
- Learn Korean vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and sentence structure;
- Explore the cultural richness of South Korea through language learning;
- Practice your writing and speaking through interactive lessons;
- Gain exposure to Korean cultural events and the Korean-speaking community in Romania.
Information
October 2026
Duration: 5 October – 19 December 2026 (Final test: 19 December 2026), 1 semester.
Every Monday and Wednesday, between 14:00 – 16:00.
- 2 hours per session;
- 2 sessions per week;
- Total: 45 hours.
One group of students will be formed.
May – September
POLITEHNICA Bucharest students from all study cycles can sign up for the selection, except doctoral students in the extension period.
Selection is made through document screening.
*Within the screening process - based on comprehensive evaluation of the submitted documents - applicants will be granted admission if the number of applicants does not exceed the course capacity.
The applicants must submit the documents in the application form.
To be eligible for the Korean course, students:
- must have not repeated any year of study;
- must have not failed any exam from the last exam session.

Academic performance (0-30)
- A student with an average academic score of 9,50 or higher, will receive 30 points;
- A student with an average academic score between 8,50 - 9,50 will receive 20 points;
- A student with an average academic score between 7,50 - 8,50 will receive 10 points;
- A student with an average academic score less than 7,50 will not receive any points.
Motivation Letter (0-30)
The score is 30 points. The motivation letter is expected to have at least 250 words and to support the applicants desire to join the course in a clear and concise style.
Curriculum Vitae (0-40)
- CVs with extracurricular activities will receive 40 points;
- CVs without extracurricular activities will receive 20 points.
Academic performance will not be taken into consideration here.
